Fairly new sushi restaurant that opened down on Atlantic nearby ELAC. They have a huge parking lot and is right next to Daiso. Their sushi is pretty solid especially at for their price point. My favorite was their tuna belly sushi, soft shell crab, and uni. Also, the greatest part was that you can get a $10 pitcher. They offer Asahi and Sapporo. Super good deal. I'd come back for some of their sushi and beer pitcher. Service was a bit slow. Looks like there was only one chef working on a Saturday night. They have lots of table so we didn't need to wait for one which is good.

I pretty sure they're new. I feel like yesterday they were still the poke/Korean corn dog shop. Anyway, let's just get in to it. Ambiance 3.5 Remodeled but rushed. Modling is coming off the walls, restrooms are slapped together, and buttons are coming off the cushions. Music is loud and fun so that's cool I guess (kpop in a Japanese restaurant). But it's fresh and clean. Much better than the previous business. Service 3.5 Shy and quiet. The new age of service I think. people aren't really serving your tables, just taking orders. No upsell, no enhancing your experience..... When asked with a question they were kind and checked for the answer from the kitchen. Food3.75 Quality is good but so many items had too much added sugar. I think if they dialed that back a little bit and figured out why their tempura dipping sauce was very acidic, I would say this place is worth returning to. We may give them some time and come back. Good luck new businesses!

I was pleasantly surprised when I came here! The ambiance here is very casual. It's in a big plaza so easy to find parking. The fish itself was actually very fresh and fatty, which I didn't expect because it didn't look really Japanese here. We ordered the 12 pieces chef special and chirashi bowl to share. They gave a good assortment of fishes, and it came out very aesthetic.

We were passing by and decided to try Kokoro. It was around ~2 pm when we walked in. Parking is very easy and free. It was a bit empty, not too many people seated. The decor was very cute and fancy. The music was pretty mellow, contrary to some other reviews that I have read. Service was good. For a Korean-Japanese fusion, it was fine. If I could, I would have rated Kokoro a 3.5 star. Food : Salmon Teriyaki Bento - 9/10, good deal for the price, big portion, salmon teriyaki was room temperature, sushi was good, quality of the sushi was good (unfortunately forgot to take a picture of the sushi) Everything that was fried was not lightly deep-fried (like how an authentic Japanese restaurant would fry it), but still tasted amazing. The karaage was one of my favorite parts of the bento. Spicy Salmon Basic Roll - 8.5/10, portion sizes were a little bit small, overall tasted good, quality was okay Spicy Ramen - 1/10, it was basically instant ramen with an egg, some vegetables, and barely any seafood, waste of $15 Overall, the food was fine. I would definitely not recommend the Spicy Ramen, though. In summary, I would come back again for the bento if I lived closer to Monterey Park or if I was passing by.

I normally do not order sushi unless it's at an AYCE. However, my husband and I decided to give this place a try and we did not regret it! The quality of the fish is so fresh. And they are so generous on the sashimi slices - nice and thick! And the rice to fish ratio was perfect. We got the sashimi combo c, we got a handroll combo each, and a few sushi pieces (yellowtail, toro, and uni). Service was great. Our waitress checked on us regularly and the food came out pretty quick. And we got there the last hour before they closed. So we didn't feel like they were rushing us at all which is great! Would definitely return to try the other items on the menu!

New favorite sushi spot! Their nigiri (yellowtail belly and scallop) surprised us, extremely tender. + Baked Scallop Roll ($14): small scallops over 8 California roll pieces (8/10) + Yellowtail Belly Sushi ($8.50 for 3pcs): very tender, well worth!! (9/10) + Jumbo Scallop Sushi ($8.99 for 2pcs): so soft and also sweet (9/10) + Egg Sushi ($5.99 for 2pcs): okay, wouldn't get again (6/10)

Decided to stop by here for another try. Second time was definitely better than the first time. It was pretty full when we got there for dinner time, but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Quick and friendly service. We ordered the sushi combo c (chef's choice), baked lobster roll, and takoyaki. The sushi was the best dish. Each piece was so delicious and just melts in our mouths. The sushi combo is highly recommended over the bento boxes.
